Positions and secures steel bars in concrete. Determine number, sizes, shapes and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or instruction. Select and places rod in forms, spacing and fastening them together, using wires and pliers. Cuts bars required lengths, using back saw, bar cutters or acetylene torch. May weld reinforcing bars together using arc welding equipment.
